The Tech Panda takes a look at recently launched gadgets & apps in the market.
Charzer, an EV charging station aggregation platform, introduced a new Whatsapp feature to offer hassle free charging for EV users. This new feature aims to make EV charging more accessible and user-friendly, particularly for individuals who may find mobile applications challenging to operate.
Sameer Ranjan Jaiswal, CEO and Co-Founder, Charzer, said, “We are excited to launch this new Whatsapp feature that can make it much easier for our users to use our charging stations. At Charzer, our primary goal is to make charging stations easily accessible to all EV users. With this new feature, users can start charging their EVs without the need to download an additional app, making the process more accessible, particularly for individuals who are not tech-savvy.”
The Why
Charzer identified a significant challenge faced by fleet drivers, such as three-wheeler and cab drivers, who often encounter difficulties when operating new mobile applications. The need for extensive training and multiple rounds of instruction, along with frequent rotation of drivers, leads to instances where fleet managers or hub managers often take on the responsibility of initiating charging on behalf of the drivers. This diverts the attention of these managers from efficiently managing their fleets to managing the charging process.
Additionally, older individuals who rely on their children to make bookings and start charging have had to deal with this inconvenience. Recognizing the widespread use of WhatsApp across various age groups, Charzer’s solution simplifies the process by allowing anyone to start charging their EVs with just a simple “Hi” sent to 7829330410 on WhatsApp. Users can also message in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada as well. This feature also provides fleet managers with more time to focus on operational tasks and eliminates the need for constant coordination between managers and drivers for charging activities.

Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, is partnering with Japan-based “Innovation Thru Energy™” (ITE) to introduce IceBattery™ technology to the Indian market. CONCOR and ITE are jointly unveiling temperature-controlled 20-feet & 40-feet (20FT/40FT) containers coupled with advanced DX (Digital) platforms, addressing critical issues in cold chain logistics, including environmental concerns, food wastage, the absence of a robust medical cold chain, and rising logistics costs.
Pankaj Garg, Founder and CEO of ITE, said, “Our 20FT/40FT IceBattery-equipped containers revolutionize perishable transportation, making it more efficient and eco-friendly. By introducing IceBattery trucks and establishing a nationwide network of these vehicles and storage points, we aim to enhance food security, reduce wastage, and lower prices while significantly reducing CO2 emissions per shipment.”
The Why
As India pursues a “Multi-Modal Transport” strategy to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions, the IceBattery system offers an adaptable solution for end-to-end cold chain logistics, even during terminal loading and unloading processes.
These containers are equipped with IoT devices for real-time tracking of cargo conditions, providing crucial data on location, temperature, humidity, unauthorized access, and more through a user-friendly smartphone interface.
The collaboration between ITE and CONCOR aims to minimize in-transit perishable wastage, reducing an estimated $14 billion in losses due to inefficiencies in India’s cold supply chain and last-mile deliveries. This initiative aims to connect various cold chain stakeholders and implement technology-driven solutions to address these inefficiencies.

Uno Minda, a supplier of Proprietary Automotive Solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), launched a range of high-quality LED blinkers for two-wheelers with the aim of providing an effective solution for road safety concerns.
Anand Kumar, Head of Product & Strategy, Aftermarket Domain, Uno Minda Ltd., said, “Two-wheelers have a special place in the heart of Indians. We are now looking at a new trend where people are not only emotionally attached to their 2-wheelers but are vigilant enough about safety equipment while on the go, blinker maintenance being one. There used to be a time when many even chose to neglect getting their faulty blinkers changed but now we see that people are cautious enough and keep the blinkers in check. It is a reality that road accidents are largely caused by this negligence, particularly at night when people are unable to judge the direction of vehicles. Recently we have seen a rise in demand for LED blinkers in the aftermarket, all thanks to the riders looking to enhance their vehicle’s personality. However, due to the poor quality of LED indicators available, customers are looking to upgrade to a known brand only. To solve this particular problem in the aftermarket, we have designed a new range of LED blinkers which not only prioritize the safety of the rider but enhance the personality of the rider.”
The Why
There were over 4.6 lakh road accidents reported last year, out of which two-wheelers claimed the maximum number of deaths. Adherence to traffic laws and ensuring effective communication between pedestrians and drivers are non-negotiable for tackling the increasing challenges to road safety. LED indicators on bikes and scooters can play a decisive role in maintaining this safety by alerting drivers of their turning direction. Prioritizing this rising need for visibility, communication, and compliance, Uno Minda, launched the LED blinkers.
Features
The superior illumination and the use of the highest quality materials offer a high degree of resistance to adverse weather and environmental conditions, as well as an above-average lifespan. Additionally, the brand offers a diverse range of LED blinkers tailored and customised as per preference. This means that whether one is looking for a sleek, minimalistic colour or a more elaborate option, Uno Minda has a blinker to match consumer needs while maintaining uniform brightness and clarity.
Uno Minda Bike LED Blinkers are available in all the leading online, offline retail, and Uno Minda stores, starting at MRP 211/- INR. They also come with a 1-year warranty from the date of manufacturing.

The E-Mobility, sustainability and data center markets require products that are conducive to high-volume manufacturing. To better automate the installation process, Press-Fit terminals are often used because they offer a solder-free solution to mount power modules to the PCB. Microchip Technology (Nasdaq: MCHP) expanded its portfolio of SP1F and SP3F power modules to be available with Press-Fit terminals for high-volume applications.
“Our power modules with Press-Fit terminals offer customers the flexibility to fully customize their design and are cost-effective power solutions for high-volume production,” said Leon Gross, vice president of Microchip’s discrete products group. “This type of plug-and-play power solution also provides a highly reliable mounting solution for automated or robotic assembly.”
Features
Solder-free Press-Fit power module terminals allow for automated or robotic installation, which simplifies and speeds up the assembly process to reduce manufacturing costs. The high accuracy of the terminal locations and the novel Press-Fit pin design in the SP1F and SP3F power modules enables high-reliability contact with the printed circuit card. Overall, a Press-Fit power module solution can save valuable time and production costs.
There are over 200 variants available in Microchip’s SP1F and SP3F power modules portfolio, with options to use mSiC ™ technology or Si semiconductors and an array of topologies and ratings. The SP1F and SP3F are offered in voltage range of 600V-1700V and up to 280A. With Press-Fit technology, the power module pins are not soldered to the PCB. Instead, the electrical connection is made by pressing the pins into properly sized PCB holes. A key advantage of a Press-Fit power module solution is it eliminates the need for wave soldering. This is especially important when the PCB is made to also include Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) components.
The highly configurable SP1F and SP3F power modules are fully compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS).
