Sports Flashes Becomes Number 1 Internet Sports Radio Channel

Sports Flashes, India’s multi-sports app that runs the only 24×7 Sports Radio Channel of India, announced acquiring a unique listenership of 3.6 million in December 2018, beating global giant talkSPORT. Launched in 2016, SportsFlashes outreach in the same month reached 45 million people across the globe.

While “Over-the-top” is the most chic term with video OTT ruling the digital world, SportsFlashes is the first company that aims to bring in the concept of “Audio over-the-top content globally”. The company plans to amplify audio over-the-top content globally and is in talks with leading OTT players for four-five web-series.

The company garnered audio rights for the 2018/19 Premier League season, global audio broadcaster rights of India cricket, global audio broadcast rights of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, and footage rights of all the past World Cup cricket matches.

Speaking on the occasion, Raman Raheja, Founder and CEO, Sports Flashes said, “We are happy that all our hard work paid off, and we have been able to cross the listenership of talkSPORT, which is the biggest in the UK. We expect to increase our reach to 1 billion consumers with the ICC World Cup.”

“The company has big plans around World Cup; we will be broadcasting the audio feed of World Cup in 11 languages, including English, Hindi, regional Indian languages and Mandarin. We will be spending USD 7-8 million on the content and packaging and expect to earn over USD 10 million during the event”, he further added.

Sports Flashes has plans to launch services in various global markets and partner with local players there. It has already signed partnerships with BBC and TalkSports for the UK and three local radio stations in Australia. Currently, it is in discussion with radio players in South Africa, Sri lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Caribbean region.

The multi-sport, multi-language sports content platform caters to sports fans through text, audio, and video. Radio Sports Flashes was launched in January 2018 as a 24×7 Internet Radio Channel that broadcast sports content like live chat commentaries, talk shows, special sports programs, expert comments, sports news and updates, audio documentaries, university sports, and sportainment content.
